Foot Levelers Improves Orthotic Lead Time by 65% with New Freedom Machine Tool
New Milling Tool Allows Company to Get Orthotics to Patients Faster
ROANOKE, Virginia — In order to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality and to pass on savings to customers, Foot Levelers recently acquired a Freedom Machine Tool 4′ X 4′ CNC Router. The tool is used to mill foot positives for Foot Levelers’ custom orthotics as well as EVA modules for the company’s ever-popular custom milled orthotic flip-flops.
The router features an Industrial CNC Control with an embedded Windows OS that provides industry-leading functionality, connectivity, plus the security of industrial CNC controls and the ease of use of a windows-based interface. Like all Freedom machines, the router is proudly built and serviced in the United States, from Freedom Machine’s Colorado Springs, Colorado headquarters.
Says Operations Manager Chad Warren, “This machine is about 35% faster than our previous machine and has a larger capacity, so it cuts our set-up time in half. We’ve also increased our total foot positive capacity by about 200%. This means we can get our orthotics and custom-milled orthotic flip-flops faster to patients who need them while passing along cost-savings.”
